Cass County Arrest History

The Cass County Sheriff makes deputy arrests and operates the county jail in Harrisonville. Raymore, Belton, and Harrisonville police keep records for arrests their officers make. Missouri State Highway Patrol records belong to the state’s channels. The correct first office depends on who made the arrest, not where a person later appeared in court or served time.

An arrest event can produce an incident or arrest report, jail intake entry, fingerprints, booking photo, bond entry, and release status. Reportable fingerprint and arrest data also move to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository. The Cass County Prosecuting Attorney independently decides whether to file state charges. If charges are filed, the Circuit Clerk creates a court case. Each record answers a different question and can update at a different speed.

Cass County Custody List Limits

The official Cass County in-custody list identifies people shown as currently held. It does not serve as a permanent county arrest archive. More importantly, the sheriff’s page warns that a transition to new jail-management software prevents real-time updates. A missing name is therefore not reliable proof that a person was never booked, has been released, or is not presently in custody.

Use the list for a first check, then call the sheriff at 816-380-8320 when custody status is time-sensitive. Individual entries can show the booking identity used, intake date, custody status, held charges, bond data, booking agency, and release information when those fields are available. The list does not establish the prosecutor’s filed charge or the court outcome.

Looking Up Cass County Arrests

A complete search uses the arresting agency, jail, court, and state sources in sequence. Start close to the event. Names alone can produce false matches, so use the report or booking number, event date, location, and agency when known. There is no official Cass County mobile app documented for arrest or booking searches.

1. Check the Cass County in-custody list, or call Belton Police first when a person may be held in Belton’s municipal jail.
2. Contact the arresting agency for its incident or arrest report. Ask the sheriff or city records unit about counter, email, mail, and inspection options.
3. Search Missouri Case.net for a later Cass County or municipal filing, then read each filed charge and disposition.
4. Use a MACHS name search for the public statewide Missouri slice, recognizing that it is a possible match and costs $15 plus a convenience fee.
5. Submit a specific Missouri Sunshine Law request when the public sources do not supply the report, booking entry, or open portion needed.

The sheriff accepts contact at sheriff@casscounty.com, by phone, by mail, or at 2501 W. Mechanic Street, Harrisonville. Describe the record type, report or booking number, event date and place, involved name, and preferred format. Ask for a cost estimate before research or copying begins.

Cass County Booking Record Chain

A deputy, police officer, or trooper first records the event and asserted legal basis. The custodial facility then creates intake fields, takes fingerprints and a photograph, inventories property, enters held charges, and records bond or release. Reportable fingerprint data go to MSHP. Prosecutors later select charges, and the court records bond decisions, hearings, judgment, and sentence. Reporting lag explains why these sources can disagree for a time.

A newly booked charge is not frozen. The prosecutor may file a different charge, decline filing, or amend a count. Court disposition reporting can also reach the Central Repository after the arrest cycle begins. For an outcome, follow the related Cass County criminal court case rather than treating the booking description as final.

That law distinguishes open initial arrest facts from investigative material that may remain closed while a case is active.

Inside a Cass County Arrest Record

The agency report and the jail booking entry overlap but are not the same file. An arrest report can describe the event, authority for the arrest, alleged offenses, and transport. A booking entry documents intake and custody. Redactions may protect victim or witness identities, medical facts, juvenile data, and active investigative material.

Missouri’s public MACHS product is different again. It includes reported open criminal-history information such as convictions, recent arrests under the state rule, pending prosecutor-filed charges, and an active-probation suspended imposition of sentence. A name result remains a possible match. Fingerprint comparison through MACHS is the positive-identity route for review of one’s own record.

Raymore Arrest Blotter Records

The Raymore Weekly Police Blotter provides an official city activity stream. It can narrow the date range and incident category for a Raymore event. A blotter item is only an activity summary. It does not show that the Cass County prosecutor filed a state charge, that a municipal prosecutor filed an ordinance case, or that a court found guilt.

Raymore charges $5 for a report or CAD copy up to ten pages, then $0.10 per added page; CD media costs $20. If the person was transferred, check the Cass County jail. Booking Logs and Recent Arrests

Recent Cass County arrest research may involve more than one custody source. The county jail holds county and transferred custody. Belton Police officially operates a municipal jail and houses people sentenced by Belton Municipal Court as well as people from outside agencies. Call Belton’s police records desk at 816-331-5522 when that facility may be involved. Raymore and Harrisonville do not publish a comparable long-term city jail channel in the cited research, so confirm with the city and then trace any transfer to the county list.

VINELink is the official designated notification channel cited for custody changes.

Its alerts can help monitor custody movement, but they are notifications rather than Cass County court dispositions.

For a state prison sentence or supervision status, use MODOC Offender Search. The Missouri Department of Corrections warns that its public data may not be fully current. County jail custody and a state corrections record describe different stages. Neither replaces the originating arrest report.

Cass County Custody Jurisdictions

Jurisdiction controls the search. Cass County jail records cover local county custody. Belton jail records begin with Belton Police. MODOC covers Missouri prison and some supervision information. Federal detention or sentence records do not belong to the sheriff, Case.net, or MODOC. They require federal sources.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator supplies the federal custody layer.

Use it when a federal sentence is involved, not as a substitute for Cass County booking or Missouri prison information.

Requesting Cass County Arrest Reports

The sheriff’s county page does not provide a detailed online report form or a fixed report-copy fee schedule. Send a focused Chapter 610 request instead. Identify whether the sought file is an arrest report, incident report, booking record, dispatch record, or booking photograph. Include the report or booking number if known, the date and place, the involved name, and the desired format. Ask to inspect the open record when copies are not needed.

Under §610.023 RSMo, the custodian must act as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day. If access cannot be provided then, the office must explain the delay and identify the earliest availability date. This is not a guarantee that a large or active file will be produced within three days. The official response law shown below governs Cass County public-record custodians.

Request the segregable open portion when investigative, juvenile, medical, victim, witness, or closed criminal-history material must be withheld.

Harrisonville Police uses a written request at 205 N. Lexington, hpd@harrisonville.com, fax 816-380-8935, mail, or counter. Its general reports cost $5 and are usually available in seven to ten business days. The city releases only an initial report from an active case, with required redactions. Belton routes police records to its police desk, while general city Sunshine requests go to the City Clerk. These agency distinctions keep a request from landing with the wrong custodian.

Arrests Are Not Convictions

A Cass County arrest record proves that an agency documented an arrest or booking. It does not prove the charge was filed or sustained. A conviction record follows a guilty plea or trial judgment in court. Acquittal, dismissal, and a prosecutor’s choice not to file can all leave the arrest event without a conviction. The court disposition must be checked separately.
